We know that they are the reason why we exist in this world. Our stronghold when we are weak. The provider of our needs. The one who discipline us when we commit mistakes. The one that teaches us about life experience. We may call him in different names such as "Daddy", "Dad" "Pa", "Papa", "Itay", "Tay", "Baba", "Fù Qīn" (Chinese), "Vati" (german), "Chichi" (japanese)... it all boils down to one name... FATHER.
On this special day, Music Zone presents my top five songs for our fathers.
Yesterday, since it was my vacation leave from work, I decided to watch Green Lantern at SM Dasmariñas. The movie stars Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.
This is the story of Hal Jordan who was chosen by the ring first worn by Abin Sur, a member of the Guardians Of The Universe who died after escaping from Parallax, the main antagonist of the film. The theme of the movie is conquering one's fear. It was stated that the ring becomes stronger if the person wearing it has a strong will.
I was a bit fascinated with the trailer when I first saw the entire movie, I realized that it was just like the other movies I've seen recently, it did not exceed my expectations. The first part was boring and honestly, I almost feel asleep. Although, there are funny moments that is not enough to suffice what I've been looking for in a film. I just regained the interest to continue watching it in the middle part. Over-all, if I would rate the film just like the others, I would give it 3 stars because there is no wow factor.
I know it's weeks since I haven't posted anything about Glee. Let's get back to business. So here it is, our Glee character of the week is Brittany Pierce.
The role is being played by Heather Morris. She was introduced as a ember of the Cherrios, a noted cheerleading squad in McKinley under the supervision of Sue Sylvester. She has recurring role during firstb season but in season 2, she was promoted as a regular cast.
She is good at dancing but most of the time, her lines are nonesense. Her first appearance was in season 1 episode 2 "Showmance" when she perform "I Say A Little Prayer" together with Quinn and Santana, but it was in season 2 episode 2 "Britney/Brittany" where she made her debut performance with the song "I'm A Slave 4 U" from Britney Spears. She led the performance of New Directions in the song "Tik-Tock" by Ke$ha where she threw-up because of alcohol.
In season 2, she became romantically involved with Artie, also one of the Glee club members but it was revealed in episode 15 "Sexy" that she is being admired and loved by Santana.
She is really great at dancing and that is her strength. I really want to see more of Brittany in the upcoming seasons.
When I logged in to Facebook today, the first status message I saw that caught my attention was a video post of my friend Thomas Ynan showcasing the performance of Angeline Quinto of the song I'll Never Say Goodbye. I'm hearing a lot of good feedback with this girl, so she is our featured OPM artist for today.
Angeline Quinto is the grand winner of Star Power: The Search For the Next Female Popstar in ABS-CBN hosted by Sharon Cuneta. She is from Sampaloc, Manila. The first time I saw her perform was in ASAP Rocks last Sunday with the song "Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin". After I watch the entire video, I was amazed by her vocal range. Damn, she's really good, In addition to that, she also resembles the
Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez. Is this just coincidence or is she
really the next Regine Velasquez?
Because she is a rising star, intrigues always hunts her. There are reports where she has attitude problems after winning the said contest. She is always being compared to the Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo. People requests that the two must have a showdown. But Sarah said she is not comfortable doing it because she admitted, she is not a "biritera" just like Angeline. Well, that's one of the fruits of being famous... INTRIGUES...
Here are some of her performances:
I DON'T WANT TO MISS A THING
BUKAS NA LANG KITA MAMAHALIN
I hope that once Regine Velasquez comes back after giving birth to her baby, they can have a concert together, and I'm gonna watch out for that.
