Makati Bus Explosion - Another Threat To National Security?



Another event caught the attention of every Filipino and the business community. The Newman Gold Line bus with plate number TXJ710 was at the north-bound loading bay near the corner of EDSA and Gil Puyat (Buendia). An explosion occured inside a Newman Gold Liner Bus yesterday, January 25, 2011 around 2PM. 

The Makati City police identified the 4 other fatalities as FX Salustiano Marino, 57; culinary arts student Johansson Reyes, 24; Shirley Kristel Ausena and Jhonlie Daquiaog, 24. The fifth fatality was a call center agent working in Ortigas, Irish Teniola, who was declared dead at the Makati Medical Center around 4AMon Wednesday.

It was reported that before the bus explosion, there were two men who dropped off the bus. There are sketches already and they are now being searched.

The relatives of the victims are pleading for help from the government for hospitalization bills and expenses. January 28, 2011, Friday, is considered as "Day of Mourning" for the fatalities and the victims. As per Makati Mayor Jun Jun Binay, all establishments in Makati area will have their Philippine flags in half-mask position.

Let us all pray for the souls of those who passed away in the incident, as well as those victims who survived so that they can surpass this not so good experience.
